How did the Creator make something out of nothing?
He didn't!
If we believe He was the Creator of all things, then there could be no raw materials out there at his disposal. So where did the "all things" come from?
The writer of the book of Hebrews gave us a clue when he wrote: "The worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible." But even invisible things must begin with raw materials. Where did He get them?
The famed physicist Albert Einstein shocked the scientific world when he presented to them his formula for the destruction of matter: E=mc(2). It was a negative approach. If this were indeed a formula for the destruction of matter, then surely it could be turned around and solved for m to give us the simple formula for the creation of matter. It would look like this: m=E/c(2).
Looking at the formula this way tells us that Mass equals Energy divided by the Speed of Light squared. If this is true, then Mass (matter) is made of both Energy and Light. So where did the Creator get the Energy and Light with which to create Matter? Obviously, from Himself. He is the source of power (energy) and He is the source of light.
In the Gematria of the Hebrew text of the Bible, the word "power" has a number equivalent of 37. And the word "light" has a number equivalent of 207 – which can be stated as 27 because zeros are not counted in the process of Gematria. In solving the equation, we find that 37 divided by 27 will give a result of 1.37. Not surprisingly, this number – 1.37 – is the Fine Structure Constant. Physicists see it as the underlying structure of all creation.
We have an example of the transformation of light into physical substance in "photosynthesis." Its very name implies making substance out of light. It not only transforms light into physical substance, but in the process it produces oxygen – our very breath of life. All life on earth, both plant and animal, is made possible by the light-sensitive substance called "chlorophyll." And would you believe – it contains 137 atoms.
This "magic" substance we call chlorophyll is, in a sense, a little piece of God. Its 137 atoms is astonishingly the same number as the Gematria in the Hebrew text of the Bible for the title "The God of Truth." The title "God of gods," also found in the Hebrew text of the Old Testament, has a Gematria value of 137. No wonder the Apostle Paul said, "In Him we live and move and have our being."
The "power" (37) of God is manifest in all the works of creation. The first statement in the Bible concerning creation is Genesis 1:1 – "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." It is well-known today that this first sentence has a Gematria value of 37 x 73. It is simply the number 37 and its mirror opposite. Take out the multiplication sign and multiply all the digits: 3 x 7 x 7 x 3 = 441. This number – 441 – is the Gematria value for the word truth, as it is used throughout the Old Testament. It begins to become apparent that the numbers are interwoven into a pattern – a concept pattern.
The first, middle, and last characters in the Hebrew alphabet (alephbet), spell the word truth. It is the Hebrew word emet, which is an acronym for three Hebrew words which mean "God is the eternal King, in the infinite past, present and future." It has a Gematria value of 441, connecting Him with the act of creation.
Creation's Magnificent Architect truly is magnificent! To read more concerning this fascinating subject, may I recommend my book, Genesis One, offered at this website.
